Catch Up Post

Happy Friday everyone! I don't know about you, but this has been one crazy week! As you saw in my last post, I am offically a ADPi member! I couldn't be any happier! I just want to say that I did question whether or not going through rush as a junior as was worth it, but I do have to say it was one of the best experiences I have ever been through. For anyone who maybe is a sophmore this year and missed rush but really want to be a part of it, go for it. I did it and I honestly think it's better because at this point you know who you are as a person and what you want out of life. If anyone has any questions about rushing as an upperclassman, please feel free to email me!

Here are some pictures from bid day:

Also here are the outfits I wore going in order from orientation to pref:

Sorry about the picture overload but I was going through my iPhone and realized there are so many things I have not shared throughout the week!

Like this one: This is Alphie the Lion (ADPi mascot). He was my good luck charm all the way through recriutment and got me through the most crazy week of my life!

But so far today has been a catch up day. I have cleaned my room/apartment, washed my car, did my laundry, laid by the pool and blogged! It's not even 2:00 yet! But boy does it feel good to get everything organized and back to normal!

Anywho, I have no idea my plans for this weekend, I guess it's more of a play-it-by-ear kinda weekend!

Until next time,

Alpha Delta Pi

Finally rush is over and I can happily say that I have found my home in ADPI! I can barely type this right now because I am still on such a high from the happiness from today!

Sorry I have been MIA but if any of y'all have went through recruitment week, you understand how time consuming and exhausting rush is. There isn't even time to eat let alone sit done and try to blog! But it has all paid off and I am so so happy!

Back to my normal posting soon, promise!

Nervous Nelly [beginning of rush]

Today is such a big day for me, first day of classes as well as first day of rush. To say I am nervous for rush is an understatement. The reason I am nervous is due to the fact that I don't know what to expect. I heard that over 1,000 girls are rushing this year which is about 400 more than last year. But I am super excited to meet all the great girls that will be there and hopefully find a sisterhood that I belong to.

Our rounds are as followed:

Wednesday: Orientation

Thursday: Round 1

Friday: Round 1

Saturday: Round 2

Sunday: Round 3

Monday: Round 4

Tuesday: Round 4

Wednesday: BID DAY!!

Keep your fingers crossed for me all week please!

50 Classics for Your Closet

Tomorrow is the last day before the chaos officially begins! Because I transferred, I am still learning where everything is around town and on campus. Thank goodness for the 21st century and technology because without my Clemson app,  which has maps, blackboard, etc, I wouldn't know where to go. And also Wednesday starts the first day of rush...so if I don't post for about a week it's because I am super busy with that, but I promise to try to at least do a few short post!

Today's post idea is from Matchbook Mag

If you have not heard of this online magazine, you have to check it out! I almost love it more than a print magazine. One page that stood out to me was the 50 classics for your closet

I think this is the most perfect list that I have yet to come across so far!
I have this list saved on my Evernote app so as I get them, I can check them off!

Well I have tons on my to do list and it's slightly overwhelming. I need to go get some things crossed off!

Wish me luck for rush, odds are I won't be able to post before Wednesday!

Outfits for the First Week of Class

It's hard to believe that this is the last weekend before classes start after such a great summer! This year my roommate Lanie and I have decided on Sunday's we are planning are outfits for the week so there is no lazy sweat pant and T-shirt day. This will be hard on Wednesday's because the only class I have is power yoga and I don't see the need for a cute outfit just to change into yoga clothes..so I have one lazy day a week I suppose.

Here are some outfit inspirations I put together that would be so simple but yet so put together for your first week back.

Falling For Fall

I know it's still mid August and there's plenty of time to wear Lilly dresses and Jacks, but I have been obsessing over Fall. All I want to do is get a pumpkin spice latte and sit outside in the crisp autumn air in a scarf and chunky sweater while reading the latest issue of Instyle.

I am also really excited because now that I am more up-north, we will actually have a fall. In my hometown, fall is super short. It goes from summer to winter basically. I have made a list of things I want to do such as apple picking, hike, and go to a pumpkin patch.

Yesterday evening my friend Lanie and I went to Target and we found a set of pumpkin spice candles, glass jar and all for $2 on clearance! So we have been burning that nonstop since. It smells exactly like fall!

Study Abroad [Oxford England]

Today is such a lazy day for me. I am feeling under the weather and have not moved off this couch...except to eat my grilled cheese and soup. Laying here has me thinking about my plans for this year and I began to think about what I want out of my junior year and making a bucket list.

Technically, I am suppose to graduate next year...which is so crazy to even consider the thought. But since I transferred this year, I lost quite a few credits plus I am juggling the idea of double majoring. More than likely I'll probably be in college for 5 years which I am completely fine with. (And I want to get my masters, so basically I have lots of college left before the real world starts!)

One thing I am determined to do before graduating is studying aboard. Clemson has quite a few places to choose from, but there are only two options that are in my major.
 Brussels, Belgium and Oxford, England.

Without a doubt, Oxford is my first choice. It would be for Summer I and I would be studying at Oxford University which would be a dream come true.  Weekends will be free to travel and visit European cities such as London, Paris, Dublin, and Amsterdam.

Being in England for a month is probably barely enough to see everything that I would want to see and travel to all the different places near Oxford.

Are there any places that you recommend I see while I am over there? Have you ever studied aboard before? I need any tips and advice that you have!!

Fresh Start & New Beginnings

Hello all! I am blogging from my new apartment for the first time!!!

The last week has been an roller-coaster of events and emotions. Leaving my family and friends is always so tough. When I went to College of Charleston my freshman year, it was only an hour and a half from my house so I didn't feel too far from home. Now I'm four and half hours away and it's such a different feeling. The hardest good bye was to my boyfriend, Michael.

My last night in Beaufort, he surprised me with a sunset cruise on the 1932 Annalee which is a vintage wooden yacht, complete with a captain, wine, flowers, and dinner.

It was the sweetest and most thoughtful surprise. I could not have thought of a better way to spend my last evening in my hometown.

The next morning I began my four hour drive to Clemson to begin my junior year as a transfer! I am rooming with my most best friend Lanie, you can find her blog here. It took two days to get settled, but we finally made it feel like our little home!

(excuse the picture overload)

 (monogram pillows found here)

First dinner I cooked in the new apartment! I was so excited to start cooking because it's something that I find so fun to do. (it's the small things that make me so happy!!)

Lanie and I decided that we will make a menu on Sunday for all the week days so we can plan ahead and eat healthy meals!

Why not throw in two OOTD's :
^
please excused the messy room, that was the day before the move and I had bags everywhere and no furniture!

Well I think I have done an overwhelming amount of photos, off to begin the day and get some things cancelled off my LONGGGG to do list!
