Bye bye November..

Hello December! I can't belive how time is flying!
Here is how my day went.
Last Accounting test of the year..check.

100 lbs off my shoulders..check.

2 classes down and 2 to go!

Now that school is starting to finally wind down and come to an end, it is time to think about Christmas gifts!

I am probably the worst gift giver ever. I try so hard to think of the most perfect gift for somebody, but it never works out. I will find something that could potentially be a great gift, but I always put it down in hopes I will find something even better.

Well...about a week before Christmas, last minute I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to find gifts for all my family and friends because I never bought anyLilthing and wishing I did purchase the items that I thought were just okay.

This year will be different because I have searched the web in hopes to find a way to be a better gift-giver.
Sooo here are a few gifts (that are under $100) and tips that helped me so I hope they help you too!

Personalized Stationary

iPhone case

Subscription to a favorite magazine

PJ Set

Orgins gift set--$55.00 ($75.00 value)

Shoes! What girl doesn't love a new pair of shoes (this girl does!)
Steve Madden -they have a whole page of shoes under $100!

Stadium blanket!
(This is actually on my Christmas list, but I think it's such a perfect gift to give especially for the fall and winter football games! And how perfect that there's a print with orange and purple!!)

TIPS:
1. Know Your Shipping Deadlines
There's nothing worse than realizing you've missed the deadline to ship Christmas gifts. December 17th is usually the cut off for standard shipping but, to be safe, try to get those gifts ordered by December 10th. Avoid paying extra charges and take advantage of free ground shipping offers.
2. Buy Extra Gifts
Don't be caught empty handed. Keep gifts ready for that unexpected visitor or guest who brings you something. Or, for that party you didn't plan to go to, have a few hostess gifts wrapped and ready in a pinch.
3.
Makes Lists & Plan Ahead
Buying early lets you avoid last minute desperation that can lead to over-spending. Buy online early to take advantage of free ground shipping offers. No one likes having to pay the extra cost for overnight delivery. If you have popular items on your list, shopping early can help you avoid out-of-stock items. Check with merchants as some sites even offer pre-orders.

So I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other great gift ideas because I could always use some suggestions too! :)

What I am Loving and big news!

I am doing two posts in a day because tomorrow is a big accounting final at 5:15. So from the time I wake up till class is over I will be consumed with balance sheets, statements of cash flows, and budget sheets. YAY!!

So here are a few things that I have my eye on and that make me so excited and happy!

Christmas lights! I absolutely LOVE driving home at night now because houses are decorated with Christmas lights!

This isn't the house (it's from Google actually) but there's this one house down the road and it looks just like this. I don't know how they don't blow a fuse or breaker.

I also love the weather lately

It's finally starting to cool down some and feel like winter!

I am loving these mirrored furniture pieces

I think these are so great because it's so simply chic (hehe)
They also really brighten up a room and will make a smaller room seem bigger.

I am loving/obsessing over scarfs lately.

I have wore one everyday for the last 8 days.
Addiction.

AND FOR MY BIG NEWS!!!

I have officially sent in my Clemson application!!!

I'll find out in 6 weeks or so! I shall keep everyone updated as soon as I hear any news!!

Happy almost hump day!

I cannot believe that she is 16 already..CRAZY! But I wish her the happiest of birthday's and best wishes!

I am starting today off at the gym because I know were going out to dinner for her birthday and I know cake shall follow! Yum!

Finals are coming up so if my blog posts are a little more spread out, I do apologize but as soon as they are over I promise to get back to regular daily posting!

Happy Tuesday!

Black Friday and college football

Is anyone else still trying to catch up on sleep from Black Friday?!?

I am. I left my house at 7:30 to meet up with three of my friends where we stood in the Old Navy line at 9:30 till they opened at midnight. We were determined to get this Kodak waterproof camera:

We were the 5th person in line so we definitely had no worries about not getting one!

But we shopped till we dropped till 6 in the morning. I did end up with a few things for me as well as a few items for my family for Christmas. (I had to keep reminding myself to buy for others, not me)

But I didn't score on any big ticket items like my parents. They had no intentions of waking up early so yesterday afternoon at like 2 they went to Wal-Mart and bought 2 of those TV's people were in line a day before to get. I guess they were a really good deal, but it's funny that they didn't wake up early or wait in lines for hours and got the same thing that all those crazies wanted and fought over.
ha

Tonight is a big riveraly college football game.
If anyone is from South Carolina or around here knows exactly what I am talking about

Its the Clemson vs South Carolina football game!

So excited!

Anywho, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Did anyone get and great deals?!

MIA

Think I wasn't coming back?!

I have been so super busy that I haven't even had to chance to sit down at my computer.

Here's a quick recap:

So Friday night we went to the oyster roast for Zonta.
The turn out was great and I only snapped one picture:

The weather was so perfect and the night was just lovely!

Saturday I was suppose to head to Charleston..
well 11:00pm Friday that got postponed..

So me and Michael decided to go to Hilton Head for the day!
We drove my Jeep with top off and we had such a blast!

We ate at the Salty Dog Cafe which is a must!

I had the veggie burger with fresh fruit, very delicious

Monday-Wednesday was school. Presentations, tests, quizzes and everything imaginable was shoved into these three days before Thanksgiving break (hence my nonexistence)

Hope everyone is going to have a great Thanksgiving! I know that I am going to eat more than my little tummy can hold :)

Black Friday Outfit Inspiration

We all know what day is approaching (yes, Thanksgiving) BUT Black Friday!! Whoo hooo!
I am definitely one to partake in this event and I can't wait!

I figured I would share what would make the perfect shopping outfit because it's the worst when your shopping and your uncomfortable or annoyed by your outfit!

shopping

Here is something I threw together.
Starting from the top-bottom.
1. Minimal jewelry. Nothing like getting stuck in a chunky sweater because your earrings are snagged on the inside, embarrassing.

2. Adding a scarf is something easy and looks so put together, but if it gets in the way, throw it in your purse or tote. Wear this instead of a necklace.

3. Brings us to the purse. I always find it best to carry a tote because you can put a brush (taking tops on and off, a must because my hair looks a mess), wallet, snack (food court food is horrible) and a bottle of water to keep hydrated. By only keeping the shopping basics it's not too heavy. I do unload my purse in car before any shopping extravaganza because when your shoulder hurts from toting around a 30 lb bag it is miserable. Only take the necessities.  But also by taking a tiny little purse that only fits a debit card and possible cell phone is not every efficient/practical. Yeah your shoulder won't hurt but you'll have to eat that crap at the food court, be thirsty and your hair will be a mess.

4. Oh the top. Something lose fitting, you don't want to feel like something is clingy. This white peasant top is so simple but chic. Sweaters are great but try not to layer too too much, that will get annoying to keep taking on and off

5. First all jeggings are the best invention since..well I don't know. But they so comfy you feel like your in your pj's all day, but look super stylish. They are perfect to shop in because of comfort, but they are easy to take on and off and plus depending what your trying on, you might just get lazy (like myself) and try on a dress or skirt over them :S

6. Flats. Enough said. Flip flops..well it is winter so that's out of the question. Boots are sometimes too hard, especially if they zip up and becomes time consuming when your going from store to store. Heels are just not happening. Flat's are so easy to slide on and off and are comfy (well I obviously enjoy my comfort..)

Side note: Hair in a pony or bun. I find when my hair is down it sometimes get's in the way. If I was just moseying around on a Saturday shopping on King St, yes hair done is fine. But for BF-waking up at 2 am and straightening my hair is not happening. So yes pony, bun or braid even.

Hope this sparks some ideas for everyone's Back Friday shopping outfit!
Can't wait to hear what everyone got!

The DO's and DONT's of 2011 Fall Fashion Trends

I should be studying for yet another Accounting test I have today..as per my usual, I am blogging instead.

Here are a few tips I picked up from Glamour and Instyle:

DON’T shy away from bold patterns. (Granny Plaids are great!)

DO  add a touch of lace.

DO try bright pants.

DO take a fresh approach to layering.

DON’T be ditsy with your dots.

DO put your outerwear first.

DON’T follow the rules about wearing white (or not wearing white) after Labor Day.

DO try something shiny.

DO add mustard hues, rust colored coats, and emerald accents.
